Welcome to SIDEBOARD -- my personal foodie/cooking/life
experience. I would like to let everyone know I am not a professional
chef nor am I a food stylist or any other such lovely thing. I am a mom,
a working mom with a busy life and a teenager who is a foodie as well. So
together we decided to put things down in hopes, when I can't remember and she
needs a recipe, there will be a place we can both come to find out how we made
something or another.
Cooking isn't for the timid, I believe anyone who has patience can learn to cook and do it
very well. Food doesn't have to have a dozen or more ingredients in it to
be FAB-U-LOUS. It only takes practice and knowing your equipment and a
little basic science. Just look at the fantastic Gordon Ramsey, all of the
chefs who come to work for him get their first interview making scrambled eggs
-- and if they can't do that one simple dish... There's the door. And his
favorite food, well that would be his mom's Mac and Cheese.
We all have a love of our mom's cooking
and I am right there alongside the rest of you. My mother is a fantastic
cook and that is why I love to cook myself. Food brings family and
friends and even strangers together. We all enjoy sharing a meal, even if
it is "just" scrambled eggs.
